Children


Sunday School program

The children's Sunday education program begins at 9:45 a.m. for preschool 3 year olds  through 5th graders. All ages come together in Parish Hall A for a lively time of action-filled songs and the lesson of the day.  The children are grouped together in age-appropriate crews of no more than 10 children.  After the lesson is taught through story, dramas, puppet shows, or a DVD presentation, the children dismiss with their crew for object lessons.  Sunday School is a curriculm entitled "Living Inside Out" and teaches our children how to live their faith 24/7.  The lesson of the day is reinforced through crafts or games.  This highly interactive environment encourges discussion and exploration of scripture.   In addition to this curriculum, first - fifth grade students will be assigned one of the six chief parts of Luther's Small Catechism for memorization. This will be accomplished through repetition each Sunday during class and will benefit the children greatly on their journey toward confirmation and regular worship participation.

  • 1st Grade - The Lord's Prayer
  • 2nd Grade - The Apostles' Creed
  • 3rd Grade - The Ten Commandments
  • 4th Grade - The Sacrament of Holy Baptism
  • 5th Grade - The sacrament of the Altar (Communion)

    • Together With Jesus

    This is a specially designed class for parents with infants and toddlers. Even from infancy children are able to learn of Jesus' love through music, prayer, talk and adult interaction. "Together with Jesus" is a time of faith nurture for very young children and their parents before they enter Sunday School. This class meets from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the back classrooms of the Parish Hall. Parents and their very young children participate in developmental activities that help them grown in love for one another and for Jesus.

    SWAT

    Servants Worshipping All Together Elementary children in grades 3-5 meet twice a month for devotions, relationship building, and scheduled outings, such as roller skating, putt-putt golf or bowling. The Children's Ministry program is designed to meet your child's needs and to equip them with the spiritual tools they need as they grow.     Nursery

    Children are always welcome in worship, however, should the need arise, a fully-staffed nursery is available for infants through 3 years. A pager system is used to ensure quality care for the children and security for the parents.

    VBS

    This year’s VBS theme is POWER LAB.   VBS will be held June 23-27, meeting each day from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  On Thursday night, June 26, we will have a family night.  The young campers and their families are invited to share a snack with their children and hear and see the sights and sounds of his VBS.  VBS is for children ages 4 and up!  The cost is $10 and includes and iron-on decal.  Registration is limited and begins on April 29th.
