Worship

We worship the living Triune God – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Worship is the life of the Christian. The Christian life is always a pattern of receiving the daily gifts of life, forgiveness and salvation through Christ, and everything we need for our body and soul. At the same time, the Christian life is a pattern of giving praise to God for all he has done for us and daily prayer – going to our Heavenly Father with our thanks and our needs.

The members of Hope gather weekly to engage in worship. Together, we participate in giving and receiving - the “dialog” of worship between God and his children. In worship, God speaks through Word and Sacrament – and his children listen. Likewise, God’s children speak through praise and prayer – and God listens. Worship is not a spectator sport. It is always a participatory endeavor. Hope utilizes the structure of traditional liturgical worship to facilitate the dialog between God and his children. When we come together for worship, Christ is always with us – present as he has promised us in his Word and in his Sacraments: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
