Our Vision

information about our vision of what Hope will be in this community Hope Lutheran Church will be a community of well-equipped witnesses to the Lordship of Jesus Christ who gather for inspiring worship, in-depth study of the Word and embracing fellowship so that members return to their locale refreshed for service to their community. Hope Lutheran Church will be a focal point for congregation and community education, cultural events, welfare, and care. Hope Lutheran Church will be recognized within the area as a congregation that reaches beyond itself to touch the lives of the unbeliever and unchurched with the hand of Christ. Hope Lutheran Church will be "the Hub" which draws people together and sends them out. Hope has begun a capital campaign to raise funds to continue the “next phase” of campus expansion.

OUR GOALS:

1. Extend the ministries, witness, and outreach of our church.

2. To provide facilities that meet the needs of our congregation and future members still to come, both now and in the future.

3. To seek God's guidance and direction - discovering the ways in which God wants to work through each of us.

THE PLAN:

We plan to begin phase II of our Master Plan: the construction of a Family Life Center.  The Center will be a 11,000+ square feet multi-purpose facility that will include a working kitchen and storage space.  It will be used for large congregational gatherings, wedding receptions, and large community functions.  It will have the flexibility to be congfigured as a gymnasium, a venue suitable for worship, or a place to host music concerts or other large gatherings.

"Building Hope for the Future...the journey continues" hopes to raise enough funds for this project.  We are encouraging each person to prayerfully seek God's will in his or her own life, and inviting three-year pledges above and beyond regular giving to the church's annual spending plan.

MOVING FORWARD:

December 2008: Due to the damage to the campus from Hurricane Ike, the old offices, and parish halls A & B have been abandoned.  New office space has been configured on the first floor of the Center for Faith Development and classroom space has been built on the 2nd floor to replace what was used for offices.  The plan is to demolish the old office/parish halls A & B structure and the old gym.  New parking space will be constructed over that area - expanding our parking as we move towards construction of phase II.

May 2008: A building committee has been formed.  The committee will now begin talking about design and financial parameters of the new construction with an architect and will form subcomittees when necessary to work on the fine details of particular features of the project.

June 2009: The old gym and parish halls have been razed.  New playground structures have been delivered and will be assembled on the old gym foundation.

August 2009: The new parking lot is complete.  Our new playground was dedicated on August 30th.  Walls and roof are up on the new maintenance building.  Hope Lutheran Church is now much more visually appealing from the street!

October 2009: The garage / storage building is effectively complete.  The planning process is underway for the new Family Life Center with the possibility of adding permanent administrative space and a few more classrooms.
